This is one of the local Toronto programs that Peace Quest supports. Young Visionaries is a Toronto based program headed by Ajani Charles (our Social Media Director) which focuses on mentoring 16-21 year olds in cinematography and photography.
The Young Visionaries is both an educational program and a collective of visual artists and educators, wherein the education of youth in Toronto takes place, specifically providing education on the subjects of photography and cinematography.
The organization is based at 377 Dundas Street West (in the downtown core of Toronto) and was founded by Ajani Charles -– an award-winning, Toronto-based photographer, filmmaker, journalist and writer with a passion for the arts, education and helping others.
The collective aims to bring the highest quality of photography and cinematography-related education to youth throughout the Greater Toronto Area, with priority being given to those youth who live throughout the underserved regions of the GTA.
The Young Visionaries features some of the most well-known and accomplished photographers, filmmakers and educators in Canada and abroad, contributing their countless hours of experience towards the objective of educating youth on what they know best.
ArtReach Toronto has generously funded the group with the support of Schools Without Borders, The Grassroots Youth Collaborative, Stolen From Africa, The City of Toronto, Peace Quest, ArkMedia, Lighthouse Innovations, The Remix Project and HipHopCanada.
